Restating project goals and intended audience

This will be a cheap alternative to existing tools that work great but with a median cost  of 270 USD per seat. So you're starting at more than 540 USD for syncing your DLSR video and handheld stereo recorder! If you got the money, go grab one of those proven timecode products but if you're on a shoestring budget and know how to install software and hold an electronic soldering iron (or know someone who does), read on!

This won't be a finished product available to buy: I'm a physics teacher dabbling in electronics (and with past experience in a brief programming job).
